Applying For NC Reciprocity License
Once your SC license has been generated with the commission, you can apply for an NC reciprocity license. Follow these steps:
*After your license is active and affiliated, look further down this page and follow the steps to join NCAR. The documents you are allowed to access will be tied to your NRDS number, so you need to join NAR at the state level for NC in order to access NC forms in Docusign.
- Submit a request for a certificate of licensure with the SCREC for the SC license certificate of licensure. You can apply for the Certificate of Licensure online through your LLR eService portal. If you have trouble finding it, visit the LLR Real Estate Commission page and click the License Certification button and it should have you login and take you right to the page.
- You will need to complete another background check. Contact CriminalRecordCheck.com at 877.272.0266 or www.ncreccheck.com. Criminal Record Check (CRC) is the only approved criminal record provider for the NC Real Estate Commission. Reports from other agencies will not be accepted. Only a report prepared by the agency within the six (6) months prior to filing your application will be acceptable to the Commission.

Can I Apply For SC Reciprocity License?
Unfortunately, SC does not extend reciprocity to NC licensed agents, so anyone who is primary licensed in NC will need to take the SC state portion of the official PSI test. To start that process, view the Salesperson License requirements on the SCREC Applications & Requirements page or reach out to your BIC, John Sylvia, at kwcbroker@gmail.com for further details.
